Jimmy Rollins byl jedna z nejlepších spojek v MLB. Jeho vrchol přišel v roce 2007, kdy byl vyhlášen nejužitečnějším hráčem a získal Zlatou rukavici a cenu Silver slugger. V kariéře celkem odpálil 231 homerunů a ukradl 470 met.

Tim Hudson sice nikdy nevyhrál cenu pro nejlepšího nadhazovače, ale vždy patřil mezi špičku v lize. Čtyřikrát byl nominován do All-Star Game. V MLB odházel celkem 17 sezon a zaznamenal 222 výher.

Po třech slabších sezonach si letos CC vzpomněl na své lepší sezony. Ty nejlepší prožil v týmu, který jej draftoval a v jeho dresu v roce 2007 získal CY Young.

Dnes se ani nechce věřit, že Pujolse Cardinals draftovali až z pozice číslo 402. Nakonec to však byl jeden z nejlepších hráčů draftovaných v devadesátých letech. Stále aktivní hráč, jenž je od roku 2012 členem Los Angeles Angels byl desetkrát nominován do All-Star Game, dvakrát vyhrál Světovou sérii a třikrát získal cenu pro nejužitečnějšího hráče National League.

Draft v roce 2000 byl plný talentovaných hráčů. Jména jako Adrian Gonzalez, Jose Bautista a Cliff Lee zná opravdu každý. Chase Utley však s jistotou bude jednou zařazen do baseballové Síně slávy. V roce 2008 získal s Phillies trofej pro vítěze Světové série. Šestkrát si zahrál Utkání hvězd, čtyřikrát získal cenu Silver Slugger. V letech 2005 až 2008 zaznamenal každý rok více jak 22 homerunů a 100 RBI.

Minnesotta letos opět nepředvádí žádné skvělé výkony. Fanoušci Twins však i v těžkých časech mají důvod chodit na zápasy svého týmu. Je jim určitě Joe Mauer, který rok co rok předvádí konstatně velmi dobré výkony. Třikrát získal titul nejlepšího pálkaře, což se zatím žádnému catcherovi v historii MLB nepovedlo. Šetkrát se dostal do sestavy v Zápase hvězd, třikrát Zlatou rukavici a pětkrát Silver Slugger. V roce 2009 byl zvolen MVP American League.

Z možností draftu v tomto roce to byla jasná volba. Zack Greinke dvakrát vládl lize s nejlepším průměrem obdržených bodů. Jednou získal také cenu CY Younga.

2003: Ian Kinsler, 496., Rangers

Ani pozice 496 Kinslerovi nezabránila, aby se stal jedním z nejlepších hráčů soutěže. Za ně si tento třiatřicetiletý vnitřní polař zasloužil čtyři nominace do All-Star. Před dvěma lety byl také vyhlášený nejlepším defenzivním hráčem roku.

Andrew McCutchen, Jay Bruce a Troy Tulowitzki. To jsou jména hráčů, kteří byli vybráni spolu s Ryanem. Ryan však má nejvyšší pálkařský průměr (.305), nejvíce homerunů (264) a RBI (879). Jeho výkony trochu snižuje dopingový skandál v roce 2013, ale i po svém návratu se zařadil mezi nejlepší hráče soutěže.

Z draftovaných hráčů v tomto roce vyčnívají Madison Baumgarner a David Price. Madison sice vyhrál Světovou sérii, ale ani jednou nezískal CY Young Award. Tu má právě David ještě ze svého působení v Tampa Bay. Oproti Madisonovi má také více výher a strikeoutů.

Mike baví fanoušky v Anaheimu nejen dobrou pálkou, ale také skvělými výkony ve vnějším poli. Navzdory tomu, že v roce 2009 byl z prvního místa draftován Stephen Strassbourg, tak je to právě Mike, jenž se stal jedním ze symbolů mladé generace hráčů. Týmy, které jej při volbě přeskočily, tak nyní jistě tuto cchybu litují.

Z podceňovaného mladíka kandidát na MVP. Ještě v minulé sezoně znal Mookieho málokdo. Jenže v této sezoně se rozehrál k fantastickým výkonům a nyní má na svém kontě 14 homerunů a pálkařský průměr tesně pod třicet procent. Loni se v hlasování o MVP umístnil na devatenáctém místě, letos půjde minimálně do první desítky.

Sice je ještě brzy hodnotit drafty od tohto roku do současnosti, ale tady byla volba Carlose celkem jednoduchá. V minulém roce získal cenu pro nejlepšího nováčka a i letos pokračuje ve výborných výkonech.
